Color editor
The color editor lets you adjust the colors used to display attributes on a tree (e.g., species, host, locality).

What it does
When T-BAS renders a tree, it assigns colors to attribute values. The color editor allows you to:
- select an attribute (from a dropdown)
- modify the color assigned to one or more values
- reset changes to the default scheme
note
The order of legend entries remains based on the original color ordering, even if you change colors.
How to change colors
1) Using HSL sliders
Use the three sliders to select a color by Hue, Saturation, and Lightness.

- Drag the vertical marker on any slider.
- Adjust one or more sliders until you achieve the desired color.
2) Using HEX values
If you already know the HEX color code:
- Click the value box you want to change.
- Enter the HEX value.
- Press Enter/Return to apply.
tip
If edits don’t apply, click back inside the edited box and press Enter/Return again. T-BAS applies changes on commit.
Resetting and reusing schemes
- Reset: use the reset button to undo all edits.
- Reuse: to copy a scheme between trees, copy the HEX values from one tree and paste them into the other.
