Seqera Tutorial

This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions for working with Seqera Platform.

Part 1: Logging into Seqera and Running a Workflow​

Learn how to access Seqera, launch a workflow, monitor its progress, and verify the results.

Task 1

Access Seqera using the link you received via email.

Open the NCSU CIFR Launchpad.

  1. From the home screen, navigate to the NCSU CIFR Launchpad using the “community/showcase” dropdown.

Search for a previous run and select “Relaunch”.

  1. Once in the “Runs” window, you can search for any previous runs such as “Gabrielle_Williams_TreemixForTutorial” and select “Relaunch” under this dropdown.

Change the workflow run name.

  1. Under the “General config” tab you should change the Workflow run name to something specific that can help identify your run later.

Under the “Run parameters” tab, DO NOT change the inputs!!!.

Set your outputDir.

  1. Under the “Run parameters” tab, ONLY change the outputDir to be YOUR UnityID path received via email.
  2. Then, add an output directory name to the end of the path and select “Launch”

You can see your run in the “Runs” tab.

View workflow progress.

  1. If you click on your run, you can view the steps in real time as they are being completed.

Verify completion in Globus.

  1. Once the run is complete in Seqera, we can verify by checking in Globus.

Open your PP715 output directory.

  1. Navigate to your PP715 Collection in the “File Manager” tab and select the corresponding output directory.

Your Seqera run should appear here.

  1. You can now view the output files from the run

Part 2: Enabling Email Notifications and Verifying Success​

Configure workflow completion notifications and verify that Seqera can send a successful run notification.

Manage your Seqera account.

  1. Login to Seqera and navigate to the dropdown under your “Profile” icon.
  2. Select “Manage your account”

Enable completion email notifications.

  1. Scroll down and toggle “Send notification email on workflow completion” to ON.
  2. When finished, be sure to select “Update”

Open the NCSU CIFR Launchpad.

  1. From the home screen, navigate to the NCSU CIFR Launchpad using the “community/showcase” dropdown.

In the Launchpad, search “hello_world” and select it.

Select “Launch”.

Launch the workflow.

  1. You do not need to change anything here, just select “Launch” again.
